“The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina” Was Renewed For Even More Episodes In 2019

Praise Satan!

Netflix has officially renewed The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, starring Kiernan Shipka, for 16 more episodes, the company announced on Tuesday.

The show, which is helmed by Riverdale executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, first premiered this October.

A stand-alone, holiday-themed episode, “A Midwinter’s Tale,” also premiered on Dec. 14, and the The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 is set to start streaming on Netflix on April 5, 2019.

According to Netflix, the 16 new episodes will premiere in two parts, Part 3 and Part 4, with a release date still to be determined.

Production starts on the new episodes after the new year.

“Praise Satan!” Aguirre-Sacasa said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television, and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch.”

“And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina’s chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka,” he said.

The show, which exists in the same universe as the CW’s Riverdale, has been popular with young viewers.

It features a darker tone than the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch television series, which aired for seven seasons from 1996 until 2003.

There has even been talk about a Sabrina and Riverdale crossover episode, since the towns of Greendale and Riverdale are neighboring in the fictional universe.
