YouTuber PewDiePie has apologized after sharing a meme making fun of Demi Lovato's hospitalization for a suspected overdose on Tuesday.
Hours after posting the meme, he deleted it and posted an apology, saying: "I didn't fully know about the situation."
Deleted meme. I didnt mean anything with it and I didnt fully know about the situation. I realize now it was insensitive, sorry!
However, the meme sparked outrage.
@pewdiepie come on bro, this is making light of something that a lot of humanity struggles with day in and day out, and countless families have been torn apart by it. Offensive humor for the sake of offensiveness isn’t edgy, it’s just lazy and destructive.
