Watch An Acid Attack Victim's Excitement At Regaining Her Sight

The video shows Sohelia Jorkesh's first steps outside after finishing numerous procedures to restore her sight.

Soheila Jorkesh was one of a number of women attacked with acid in Iran in October 2014 due to not being properly veiled. The attack left her blind in one eye and with severe facial scars.

A year on from the attacks, Jorkesh is slowly regaining her vision, as shown in a recently uploaded Facebook video.

The video shows Jorkesh, who is being treated in Spain, venturing outside for the first time after numerous operations to restore her eyesight.

Jorkesh raises her hands to the sky and starts crying, thanking God for her returned vision.

The video was posted on women's rights page My Stealthy Freedom. The page's creator Masih Alinejad told BuzzFeed News that the video was originally shared by Jorkesh's family.

Alinejad said there are many other acid attack victims who have not been as lucky as Jorkesh and desperately need health care.
