On Tuesday, Wilson shared a series of photos on her Tumblr, detailing her grievances with how people react to her hair.
In the photos, Williams proceeds to cut off her extensions, captioning the photos with comments she receives.
Williams told BuzzFeed News that she attends a school with a very small black community and so regularly encounters questions about her hair, which she finds annoying.
"Whenever I take my extensions down to my natural state, it seems like not a lot of people except my closes friends notice it, and when I put on extensions again the so-called BFFs are there to say how much they love my long hair," she said.
"For me, it's just another protective style that I wear to school, but for everyone else, they just don't understand. I haven't always loved my hair. I used to put it in just for them to like me, but now, I really don't care what they think."
