Dasha Battelle has one major complaint about Snapchat as a medium for her art: not enough green shades on the spectrum. "Not everything can be done in lime green, ya know?"
Battelle, a 24-year-old New Yorker, works in a law office, but the app lets her artistic side thrive. "I started to use Snapchat as a creative outlet during lunch breaks and down time. After fussing around with the app, I realized I could create pretty detailed work."
Snapchat has "secret" extra colors you can access by touching the color bar and dragging your finger to the left, then up and down. You can get black, gray, maroons, aqua and more (sadly the green spectrum is still limited).
"It's a creative challenge — the kind of 'outside the box' thinking that I haven't really encountered at work," explains Battelle. "At this age, a lot of my friends are sitting in boring office jobs and are eager for entertaining interruptions."
