There's already a way to type emojis on your computer as you would on a phone, but it takes several keys and a fair bit of scrolling.
Tech company Disk Cactus, or 💾 🌵, as they call themselves, launched a Kickstarter for a Mac emoji keyboard designed to simplify your typing.
For $15 (for now), they'll send you a sticker overlay for your keyboard that, when connected with their software, will let you type emojis to your heart's content.
Just hit caps lock to toggle between letters and emojis.
Before long, keyboard users may have emojis memorized as well as the traditional QWERTY layout, co-founder Benjamin Lotan told BuzzFeed News.
"You can have more evocative and abstract ideas connecting and communicating and conveying ideas and emotions," Lotan said of using emojis on phones. "We should have that on the computer."
