The Game That Might Unite The Internet

Cats + The Sims + nerd rockstars = cultural singularity.

Super Meat Boy is one of the most beloved indie games of the past few years, in large part because of the documentary Indie Game: The Movie, which chronicled the struggle of developers Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes to make their magnum opus. The game was an instant cult classic, the kind of thing that Reddit gaming subforums will never stop talking about.

Their followup, Mew-Genics, is the world's first crazy cat lady simulator. McMillen described the game on the Team Meat blog over the weekend as "a cross between The Sims and Pokemon with a sprinkling of Animal Crossing and a dash of Tamagotchi". So, to summarize, two of the most lionized indie game developers are making a game inspired by four of the most popular games of all time, and that game is about the internet's favorite animal.

You heard it here first, friends. This game is going to be big.
