Several new pictures of Kylie Jenner generated anger Saturday after some said the reality TV star looked like she was wearing blackface.
Jenner posted at least one of the pictures to her Instagram account Saturday afternoon, where it racked up more than 600,000 likes in a few hours. Jenner has nearly 20 million followers on Instagram.
Another photo appeared on the account of Joyce Bonelli, a makeup artist who was tagged in Jenner's post.
Hairstylist Chris Dylan posted a third photo:
The third photo circulated widely on Twitter and appeared to have been posted at one point to Jenner's account. However, by Saturday evening that post was gone.
Jenner could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday evening.
BuzzFeed News also reached out to Bonelli and photographer Marcelo Cantu, who was tagged in Jenner and Bonelli's posts. Neither had responded Saturday night.
Shortly after the photos were posted, Jenner began trending on Twitter and many expressed outrage, saying she had appeared in blackface.
However, others defended Jenner, arguing that her darkened skin did not amount to blackface.
Because Jenner, Bonelli, and Cantu could not be reached Saturday, it was unclear if Jenner's appearance was the result of makeup, lighting, digital editing, or some other process. The objective of the photo shoot also was not immediately clear.
