The Torch stands 1,155 feet tall and is the 32nd tallest building in the world. It was completed in 2011.

The fire began about 2 a.m. local time, CNN reported.

The building includes 676 residential units and six retail spaces, according to CNN.

Video taken later appeared to show that the fire had engulfed much of the building.

Strong winds in the area were driving the fire through the building, the BBC reported.
