Body Of Missing Fox Executive Found In Southern California

Gavin Smith disappeared in 2012. His body was discovered last week in the desert north of Los Angeles.

Two and a half years ago, Gavin Smith vanished. Now, police say they've found his body in the Angeles National Forest, north of Los Angeles.

Smith's body was located last week, then identified this week, local media reported. Smith was an executive in Fox's distribution department before he vanished on May 1, 2012.

According to KNBC, the 57-year-old Smith was in a relationship with the wife of a convicted drug dealer at the time of his disappearance. In February, police found Smith's Mercedes-Benz 420E — in which he was last seen driving through Los Angeles — in a storage facility connected to the drug dealer. The discovery prompted investigators to reclassify Smith's disappearance as a homicide and in May he was declared dead.

The drug dealer, John Creech, is currently serving time on drug charges.
