After Blizzard Misses NYC, De Blasio Pokes Fun At Himself By Reading Onion Article

The mayor read fictional quotes of himself predicting the dire effects of the storm.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio treated reporters Tuesday to a reading of an Onion article about the recent blizzard.

The article included fictional de Blasio quotes, and warned that "the furious hoarfrost bearing down upon us knows neither mercy nor reason, and all within the five boroughs will perish, cowering in their brittle dwellings."

The reading came after the blizzard left New York City mostly unscathed, with only inches of snow on the ground. Forecasters had predicted a historic storm in America's largest metropolis, leading de Blasio and other leaders to issue warnings and shut down city infrastructure.
