A Brooklyn Nets Super Fan Was Carried Out Of A Game By Security

Security guards at Madison Square Garden carried Jeffrey Gamblero out of the Nets-Knicks game without his prosthetic leg.

Well-known Brooklyn Nets fan Jeffrey Gamblero was carried out of his team's game Tuesday night by security guards at Madison Square Garden.

Video of the incident was quickly posted to Instagram and shows several security guards carrying Gamblero up the stairs without his prosthetic leg. The crowd boos as the guards and Gamblero go by.

In a statement issued to ESPN, the Knicks described the incident as an "unruly fan" being ejected after others complained:

Gamblero is known for attending Nets games in neon shirts and dancing while being shown on the arena screens. A self-described witness told The Brooklyn Game that Gamblero was "being his usual self" when the incident happened.

The witness told the Brooklyn Game that Gamblero was "dancing and loud cheering for the Nets" and a guard told him to "cool down." The incident reportedly later escalated when Gamblero took off his prosthetic leg. The guards ordered Gamblero to put the leg back on, he refused, and after about 10 minutes they carried him out.

Only in NY will a fan remove his leg to stop security from kicking him out (it didn't stop them). #Knicks #MSG

Another witness told a reporter that Gamblero was "cheering obnoxiously" and not cooperating with security, but added that he "didn't think the Nets superfan deserved to be ejected." A third witness tweeted that security had been patient with Gamblero, but that he refused to leave when asked.

@KennyDucey @_Verts Honestly, the vid looks bad but security was patient and talked to him for 10 mins before that. He refused to go.

The New York City Police Department told BuzzFeed News early Wednesday that Gamblero was not arrested following the incident.

Gamblero — whose real name is Jeffrey Vanchiro — is a Brooklyn graffiti artist and poker player, according to ESPN.

Fans were apparently not happy that Gamblero was ejected:

Heard Gamblero was kicked out for dancing while Knicks were down double digits. Disgraceful, but for some reason not surprising.

This is all kinds of messed up. http://t.co/OXiiiYUtu6

Damn that was @JeffreyGamblero they kicked out? That's bush league by MSG security. Sorry Nets fans were louder in your library of a stadium
