University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Samuel Dubose during a traffic stop on July 19.

The 25-year-old police officer has been on the force for just over four years, according to Cincinnati.com.

Tensing finished the University of Cincinnati's two-year police academy in 2010 and earned his bachelor's degree in 2012.

Tensing grew up in Colerain Township and is a graduate of Colerain High School, Cincinnati.com reported.

The officer had worked for the University of Cincinnati since April 2014 and was first hired as a cop with the Greenhills police force in April 2011.
