Charlie Sheen will make "a revealing personal announcement" Tuesday morning on Today, according to NBC News.
NBC News made no mention of what Sheen would be announcing during his in-studio interview with host Matt Lauer. However, TMZ, citing sources connected to the show, reported Monday that Sheen will reveal he is HIV-positive.
When reached by BuzzFeed News, Sheen's publicist Jeff Ballard responded to say that he is no longer working with the actor. Ballard wrote: "We had a disagreement how to handle a situation and we parted ways. We have a 35-year friendship and I love him. I wish him nothing but the best."
Sheen, who was fired from CBS's Two and a Half Men in 2011 after a very public spat with Warner Bros. over his erratic behavior, has made no secret in the past of embracing his love of sex, drugs, and alcohol.
He also barreled through several high-profile divorces, including one from Denise Richards.
When reached by BuzzFeed News, a representative for Sheen's third wife, Brooke Mueller, declined to comment.
A movie star in the 1980s and '90s, Sheen went on to become most known for his television roles.
At his peak, he was the highest paid TV actor, earning a reported $1.8 million per episode on the top-rated Two and a Half Men.
