"Scandal" Cuts Stephen Collins Amid Child Molestation Allegations

ABC tells BuzzFeed News the 7th Heaven star will no longer be featured in Scandal Season 4.

The day after the NYPD opened an investigation into actor Stephen Collins' alleged child molestation, ABC has confirmed that former 7th Heaven star will no longer be featured in an upcoming episode of Scandal.

"We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins," a rep for ABC told BuzzFeed News. The actor previously played anchorman Reed Wallace in the Season 2 episode, "Happy Birthday, Mr. President." Collins tweeted he'd be returning for a Season 4 episode in September.

Happy to say I did another episode of #Scandal. Had a gr8 time. Wish I could say more but @ShondaRhimes would have to kill me.

On Tuesday, TVGuide Network and UpTV both pulled reruns of 7th Heaven from their schedule. "As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins," the network's president and CEO Charley Humbard said in a statement. "We will continue to monitor the situation and listen carefully to our viewers."

Collins was also fired from Ted 2, which is currently in production. The investigation into his alleged crimes is ongoing.
