Capitol Police Report On Navy Yard Shooting Delayed Because Of Shutdown

The findings were supposed to be released Oct. 21.

The release of a report on the Navy Yard shootings will be delayed due to the government shutdown.

The report, a look into the facts surrounding the Capitol Police's response to the Sept. 16 shooting that left several dead, including the lone shooter Aaron Alexis, and others injured, was slated for release on Oct. 21.

But the government shutdown stymed the investigation of the Fact Review Team established by police just a couple of days after the event, according to Capitol Police.

Capitol Police say the findings will be released in the near future.

A Capitol Police spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
