I'm sure I don't need to introduce you, but this chap is Alexis Ohanian: Reddit co-founder, loving husband to Serena Williams, and doting dad to the adorable Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
Ohanian Sr has repeatedly shown he is not only his wife's biggest fan but fiercely protective, like the time he called out a "racist and misogynistic" cartoon of Serena.
So it wasn't that surprising when he tweeted on Thursday that he had applied to join several natural hair Facebook groups, so that he could continue to learn how to take better care of his daughter's hair.
Just applied to join 4 private Natural Hair facebook groups. I hope they don't auto-reject my application when they see my profile photo 😂 I told them it was to keep getting better at doing my daughter's hair.
People thought it was great of him for wanting to learn more.

@alexisohanian You are an amazing dad, and there is so much that is said in this simple gesture. This is more than hair. This is you saying I care about my little girl. Hair is typically an important thing in a girls’ life. This is you showing her you value her interests.
And, in response, other dads started sharing photos of their own daddy-daughter haircare journeys.

But some people worried about Alexis trying to join spaces they say aren't made for him and pointed out that other resources are available.

There are plenty resources outside of that private group that can help you with Olympia's hair. Our platform and plenty others have lots of info. Happy to help if needed!

@alexisohanian As a creator of a FB group for Black moms of 12k, those that don’t know who you are may auto-reject you. The creation of safe spaces for various groups/topics is why FB groups are growing. Don’t take it to heart, it’s self-protection! Good luck! ☺️
