The Washington, D.C., Lottery Isn't Paying Out Because Of The Government Shutdown

Starting Saturday, lottery winners won't be paid until the shutdown ends.

The D.C. Lottery announced Friday it will no longer cash lottery tickets because of the government shutdown, beginning Saturday.

You will, however, still be able to purchase lottery tickets.

The group said all winning tickets would be honored once the shutdown was over.

According to D.C. Lottery, there are 17,795 winners every day.
