LAX Shooting Suspect Charged

The suspect in Friday's shooting at Los Angeles International Airport could face the death penalty.

Murder charges were filed against the suspected gunman in the Los Angeles airport shooting Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

Paul Ciancia, 23, was arrested in connection with Friday's shooting. In addition to murder charges, Ciancia was charged with commission of violence at an international airport. He could face the death penalty.

The Associated Press reported that Ciancia told investigators he had acted alone when he opened fire in the terminal.

TSA officer Gerardo Hernandez was killed in the attack, and five others were wounded including two other TSA officers.

Ciancia isunder 24-hour armed guard at the hospital and sedated for medical reasons, the AP reported.
