We happily confirm that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were married in Italy in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their close friends and family.

The celebration was also attended by the couple's 3-year-old twins, Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, and the reception featured a performance by Sir <a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/kristenharris1/surprising-celebrity-stage-names">Elton John</a>.

Neil Patrick Harris has tweeted that he married his partner David Burtka in Italy over the weekend.

Harris and Burtka's wedding was officiated by longtime How I Met Your Mother director Pam Fryman, People reported.

In June 2013, Harris told E! News that he was intending to marry chef and actor Burtka, shortly after he tweeted his joy when New York's Marriage Equality act passed.

Congratulations, guys! Time to celebrate!
