Four people have been arrested in Germany on suspicion of plotting far right terror attacks on mosques and hostels that host asylum seekers, prosecutors in the country said Wednesday.
Three men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of founding a far-right group, and procuring explosives.
The plot centers around a previously unknown group called the OldSchool Society.
The federal prosecutors' office in Karlsruhe said 250 police officers had taken part in raids across several German states — North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, according to Tagesschau.
A statement by the prosecutors' office said evidence including "pyrotechnics with high explosive power" had been confiscated. It added that it's not known whether the group had set concrete dates for attacks, and further investigations had been planned.
