Rosie O'Donnell Isn't Leaving "The View," According To ABC

Despite a report that the co-host's "days are numbered," the network told BuzzFeed News she'll remain at the table.

Rosie O'Donnell is not leaving The View, a network spokesperson confirmed to BuzzFeed News via email. "This is yet another in a long line of fabricated stories. Reports of Rosie leaving are false," the spokesperson wrote.

On Monday, TMZ reported that the 52-year-old co-host, who returned to The View after a seven-year hiatus, has been unhappy on the show since not being moved into the head anchor spot. "We're told Rosie came in thinking she'd be in the lead position at the table — 'the moderator,'" TMZ reported. "We're told she was outraged when it became clear the title and the power belonged to Whoopi [Goldberg]."

However, the ABC spokesperson disputed those claims, telling BuzzFeed News, "Whoopi is the moderator and has been since she was hired in 2007. Rosie O'Donnell knew that before she took the job." TMZ later updated its story to include a similar statement from O'Donnell's personal rep.

O'Donnell first joined The View in September 2006 and left in April 2007 after much on-air strife, sometimes involving her boss, Barbara Walters, but largely due to confrontations with her then-co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. O'Donnell returned to the show in September 2014 along with newcomers Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace, and returning moderator Goldberg.
