In a news conference Tuesday morning, Donald Trump read aloud to a national audience the private telephone number of fellow Republican presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Trump was discussing a phone call he had with the Graham "three, four years ago" — before Trump even "knew who he was" — in which Graham reportedly asked the billionaire to help him get on Fox and Friends.
After calling the South Carolina senator an "idiot" and a "lightweight," Trump recounted a short conversation he recalled how Graham allegedly asked him to call Fox on his behalf and contribute to his campaign.
"I give to everybody," Trump said in the speech. "People say, 'You gave to Democrats!' Well of course I did, 'cause I'm intelligent ... I was a business man until a few months ago!"
When Trump wanted something, he said he gave people money, so that favors could later be called in.
"So I said ... 'What's this guy, a beggar?'" he continued, still referring to Graham.
Trump then proceeded to read Graham's personal cell phone number aloud.
"I don't know if it's the right number," Trump said. "Let's try it: (202) 228-0292."
Graham's campaign manager confirmed the number was for Graham's personal cell phone and issued a public statement.
Donald Trump continued to show hourly that he is ill-prepared to be commander in chief.
The two people most excited about Donald Trump's candidacy are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Because of Trump's bombastic and ridiculous campaign, we aren't talking about Obama's horrible deal with Iran or Hillary Clinton's plans to continue Obama's failed national security agenda.
Looks like at least a few people may have taken the Donald's advice; when BuzzFeed News tried to call the senator, the mailbox was full.
One reporter from Politico, however, managed to reach the senator on his phone.
"I wonder what caused that," Graham reportedly said. "When it comes to The Donald, nothing surprises me anymore. It's too bad really ..."
In an interview with CNN that aired on Monday, Graham called Trump a "jackass" and said that he should definitely not be commander in chief.
All the attention has apparently caused the senator to give up on his phone all together. Just hours after Trump's conference, Graham asked his Twitter followers for their personal phone preferences.
