The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (aka Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) are expecting their second child, a spokesperson said in a statement to BuzzFeed News.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother," the spokesperson said. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The couple made their announcement Valentine's Day with a touching new photo by a longtime friend, photographer Misan Harriman, who posted the image to his Twitter account Sunday.

"Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honored to capture it grow," Harriman wrote.

The new royal baby will join older brother Archie, who turns 2 in May.

Even though Harry and Meghan have "stepped back" as working members of the royal family, their second child will still be eighth in line for the throne, since the Queen didn't change the line of succession.

Meghan's pregnancy announcement was made nearly three months after she published a devastating op-ed in the New York Times revealing that she had a miscarriage in July.

The Sussex family has been living in California near Meghan's hometown of Los Angeles, where her mother resides, since March. Harry and Meghan have spent the past year laying the groundwork for their post-royal lives.

In December, the couple formally launched Archewell, a parent organization that is currently made up of the nonprofit Archewell Foundation and two production companies, Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions. (You can read more about why they chose that name here.)
