The Apple Watch Edition starts at $10,000, but that is nowhere near as much as you can spend. There are two Apple Watches that reach $17,000: One with a 38mm, 18-Karat rose gold case and a rose gray modern buckle (above), and one with a 38mm, 18-Karat yellow gold case with bright red modern buckle (below).
At this price point, and given Tim Cook's quotes calling the Apple Watch a new dimension in time-keeping, it's clear Apple does not see this as a "smartwatch." They're gunning for the luxury watch industry just as much as Pebble, and at nearly $20,000, the Edition automatically becomes a fetish object on par with the Rolexes of the world. Whether the type of person given to buying luxury watches will see it that way remains to be seen, but going this high at all says a lot about Apple's ambitions moving forward.
