Over 200 firefighters were battling a rare seven-alarm fire in Brooklyn in New York City on Saturday with smoke billowed across the city skyline.
The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. ET at a storage warehouse by the East River in the neighborhood of Williamsburg, an FDNY spokesperson told BuzzFeed News.
In addition to crews on the ground, firefighters were also working on boats to bring the inferno under control.
The fire has been fanned by strong winds, while temperatures in the city were well below freezing.
However, the FDNY spokesperson said there have been no water delays despite the freezing conditions.
There have been no reported injuries so far, the spokesman said.
Aerial footage showed the fire's thick, black smoke dominating the New York skyline.
