Sportswear Company Prints Shirts With Washing Instructions "Give This To Your Woman, It's Her Job"

Happy International Women's Day!

An Indonesian sportswear company has marked International Women's Day with an apology for having made jerseys that contained sexist washing instructions.

"Washing Instructions: Give this jersey to your woman. It's her job," read the shirt made by Salvo Sports for Indonesian Super League team Pusamania Borneo, the BBC reported.

When the shirt began drawing criticism on social media, Salvo Sports offered the Indonesian equivalent of a "Sorry/Not Sorry" apology.

"The message is simply, instead of washing it in the wrong way, you might as well give it to a lady because they are more capable," the company wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

3. Pesan sederhananya "drpd repot2 dan salah nyucinya, lebih baik serahkan ke wanita aja, karena mereka memang lebih paham masalah itu"

"There is no intention to humiliate women. In contrast [we want to tell the men] learn from women how to take care of clothes."

4. Tidak ada sama sekali maksud untuk merendahkan wanita. Justru sebaliknya, belajarlah merawat pakaian dari wanita krn mereka lebih telaten
