Drug Suspect's Helpful Dog Leads Police Right To Him

Man’s best friend? More like THE man’s best friend.

Police in Prattville, Alabama, say they were able to track down and arrest a drug suspect with the help of an unlikely rat: the suspect’s dog.

When officers arrived on the scene to execute a drug search warrant, they say that Edward Melvin Henderson fled out the back of the house, jumped off a 25-foot ravine, and ran into a wooded area.

On the other side of the woods, amid a sea of tall grass, officers spotted Bo happily wagging his tail, overjoyed at having led his new cop friends right to Henderson.

Police say they found methamphetamine and components for a meth lab on the property, and Henderson was ultimately charged with failure to obey police, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the unlawful manufacture of controlled substances.

Rather than recruiting Bo as the newest member of their drug squad, Prattville police returned the dog to his family who have promised to take good care of him.

They also say local animal control officials will perform periodic checks on Bo to make sure he's OK.

For his efforts, Bo received a lot of love on social media.

Good job, Bo! Who’s a good little narc? You are!
