Four Killed, Including One Child, In Fiery Crash In Maryland

Four adults and four children remain in critical condition at a local hospital after a pickup truck collided with a van in a “horrific crash,” a fire official said.

Four people, including one child, died Sunday in a fiery crash in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Prince George's County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Mark Brady told BuzzFeed News that emergency officers responded to an accident report around 5 p.m. ET on Chillum Road only to discover a "horrific crash."

The crash involved a pickup truck and 15-person passenger van. It appeared the truck crossed the double line and T-boned the passenger van, Brady said. When the Prince George's fire personnel arrived, the pickup was already engulfed in flames and the driver was dead.

The passenger van suffered extensive damage, and two adults and one child who had been riding in the van were killed.

The survivors were all transported to a local hospital. In total, eight adults were taken for treatment and four remain in critical condition. Six children were also taken to the hospital and four remain in critical condition.

Brady said the scene was challenging because of the large number of fatalities and injuries.

I am on location in 2100 block of Chillum Rd in Hyattsville of a horrific crash involving a passenger van. Multiple fatalities and injured.
