The Only Twitter Account You Need For The NCAA Tournament

Never miss a close game.

I'll be tweeting each NCAA game that's close inside of 3 minutes. See my profile for details. Max one tweet per game.

Twitter bots are a mixed bag, but thanks to Jenny Ye and Noah Veltman over at WNYC's data team, there's now a way to keep tabs on every close NCAA tournament game across the social network. First noticed and reported by Nieman Lab, Nailbiter Bot scrapes NCAA.com's scoreboard for close games inside 3 minutes.

The tweets are pretty standard score updates, but might come in handy for a casual fan who can't afford to park in front of the TV for the whole day.

UCONN (7) v. ST JOE (10) is 64-66 with 2:28 left. http://t.co/GQSU2dSkaF

And paired with Twitter push notifications, Nailbiter Bot might actually work as a reliable early warning system for close games, as @jodyavirgan notes.

A system, let's see if it works 1) Follow @NailbiterBot 2) Turn on notifications 3) Only tune in when games are close
