Medical officials within the activists' camp have claimed that three activists have died in the latest clashes with riot police.

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has claimed the police at the site of the clashes did not have live ammunition.

However, the Associated Press is now reporting that prosecutors say that the two men "were shot with live ammunition."

Musiy has also said the wounds on two of the bodies resembled those caused by live ammunition.

While two of the activists were shot, it's said the third activist died after falling off a 13-meter-high colonnade of a Kiev stadium.

Interfax appears to confirm death of the second protester who fell off the colonnade. Not clear what "confirm" means http://t.co/k501Apf3ZD

However, there are some reports that the activist did not fall off the roof, but was "thrown" off.

@maxseddon There are convincing grounds to believe that it was 'thrown off', not 'fell off'. Verification needed, though.

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has stated that the opposition leaders should be held responsible for the deaths.

The U.S. Embassy has since announced it has revoked the visas of several Ukrainians who were linked to the violence in Kiev, "in response to actions taken against protestors on the Maidan in November and December of last year."
