A Syrian observation group, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, has reported that a car bomb attack in the northern Syrian town of Darkoush has killed at least 20 people and has wounded dozens more. A different observation group, Local Coordination Committees, has a conflicting report, saying that at least 12 have been killed.
Some of the victims have been taken across the border to Turkey for treatment, and the AP reports an amateur video of the attack was posted on the observation group Local Coordination Committees's Facebook page. The video is said to have showed several cars on fire and people running from the area. Many buildings and shops are seen to have extensive damage.
The attack comes just one day after two car bombs exploded near the state TV building in Damascus. The SANA news agency reported the headquarters in Umayyad Square was damaged in the explosion but has not reported any casualties.
