Mitt Romney has placed an $88,000 television buy in the Charlotte, North Carolina, television market, a source said -- an expensive way to reach fewer than 10% of the South Carolina electorate, in the Rock Hill area.

It's a move that shows Romney's using his deep pockets to scrap for every vote in South Carolina -- and that he's hoping to end the race there.
