Harvey And Bill Take CNN

A flashback to the glory days when Weinstein and the Clintons owned New York.

Former President Bill Clinton will appear tomorrow night on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight with guest host Harvey Weinstein, reuniting two old political friends and allies, a CNN source told BuzzFeed.

Clinton will be coming in advance of his second annual Clinton Global Initiative America, the domestic arm of his annual Clinton Global Initiative in New York.

Weinstein, the co-founder of Miramax, was a longtime supporter of the Clintons, but he was at the peak of his New York power when Hillary Clinton ran for Senate in 2000. He hosted an election night gathering at the Upper East Side media spot Elaine's, and the Clintons showed up to thank him. As the New York Observer wrote at the time:

On this Election Night 2000, if Elaine’s was its own city–America’s most powerful compressed precinct of celebrity, calamari and Clintonism–then Mr. Weinstein was its Mayor Daley, a ward boss of unchallenged glamour and unparalleled power in the United States of America.

Weinstein left Miramax for his own company in 2005, and remained a loyal supporter of Hillary Clinton. In 2008, he threatened to stop contributing to Nancy Pelosi if she failed to support Clinton's bid for extra convention delegates.

With chatter about a Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential run very much in the air, the CNN appearance will be closely watched for hints.
