In the 18th straight hour of his Senate floor speech to defund Obamacare, Sen. Ted Cruz got a burst of inspiration from fellow Sen. Rand Paul.
Paul asked a question which included the phrase "we need a rebellion alliance against oppression."
It got Cruz thinking ...
...about some analogies.
"I will confess that phrase, 'a rebellion against oppression' conjured up to me the Rebel Alliance fighting against the Empire..."
"...that Empire being the Washington, D.C., establishment."
"I wondered if at some point we were going to see a tall gentleman in a mechanical breathing apparatus come forward and say in a deep voice..."
"MIKE LEE, I AM YOUR FATHER."
And Sen. Mike Lee says:
"And just like in Star Wars movies, The Empire will strike back."
"But at the end of the day, I think the Rebel Alliance, I think the people will prevail."
And then Cruz tried to do a Force choke on Harry Reid.
