2. Sderot, Israel. Population 24,000.

Sderot is located one kilometer from the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip.

3. London, England. Population 8.174 million.

Londoners are no stranger to intimidation and terror.

London withstood a prolonged assault by the Nazis during the Blitz, with various estimates of the explosives dropped on the city ranging in the tens of thousands.

But even in the face of immense devastation, the citizens of London kept a "stiff upper lip."

5. New York City. Population 8.2 million

Terror attacks have claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 in New York over the last 20 years.

The city most recently suffered a deadly attack meant to deter Iraq's free elections, which took place successfully on the 20th of April.

7. Belfast, Northern Ireland. Population 281,000.

Belfast has been at the center of the Irish Independence movement since it's establishment as the the capitol of Northern Ireland in 1921.

Between the years of 1969 to 1998, Belfast was the stage for various episodes of sectarian conflict between its Catholic (Republican) and Protestant (Loyalist) populations.

In this time period nearly 1,500 people died in coordinated terrorist attacks.

And although small bouts of violence continue, Belfast as a city is currently experiencing a cultural renaissance of non-violence.
