It's handy if you have a tripod as that will keep the static parts of the image crisp. If you don't have a tripod, rest your phone on a ledge or the ground.

To get a cleaner capture, only open the camera app when you've positioned the phone, and close the app before you (physically) move the phone again. The in-camera features use everything you capture while the camera app is open.

If you want super crisp, static images, stick to the default setting (side note: because, as mentioned earlier, Live captures everything while the camera app is open, you can pick the exact frame you wanna use after you take the photo.)
But the great thing about this hidden feature is you can choose an effect now, and if down the road you decide to revert back to the original image, you don't lose that option.
