Jackson with Cuccinelli, his running mate.

The Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia, E. W. Jackson, compared abortion, pornography, in-vitro fertilization, and cloning to Hitler and Stalin in his 2008 book Ten Commandments to an Extraordinary Life. Jackson wrote the book when he was serving as a minister.

There is more than one kind of vision. There is wicked vision. The word "wicked" means "twisted" as in a wicker basket or the wick of an oil lamp. To envision that which is contrary to the will of God is to morally and spiritually twisted. Pornography, abortion, and host of other societal evils comes out of man's twisted vision. Practices such as cloning and in vitro fertilization by woman who want to have children without fathers, are precisely kinds of evils God saw in the tower of Babel incident. The people's vision was unrestrained by God's spiritual and moral instructions. Indeed their vision was rebellion against God. Wicked vision carries the mark of Satan. Hitler, Stalin and other bloodthirsty despots have proved that. Of course, human beings, following their selfish, fleshy desires have plenty of capacity for wickedness of their own.

Jackson told reporters last month, "I say the things that I say because I'm a Christian, not because I hate anybody, but because I have religious values that matter to me." Jackson made the comment to reporters at a campaign stop in Fredericksburg, according to a Washington Post report.
