Newt Gingrich In 2008 On Fannie And Freddie: "Anyone Who Profited Should Pay"

Newt Gingrich has come under fire recently for his consulting work at Fannie Mae and Freddie. In September 2008 Gingrich commented that he worked with both institutions "consulting and advising" on a "general public policy level." Gingrich also comments that he was happy to not "push the issue" of their mismanagement while he was working for them a long as they "weren't failing." This is the substance of Romney's latest attack on Gingrich.
