Mitt Romney's Selective Service Record

Here is Mitt Romney's selective service record. The document shows Romney received deferments as a Mormon "minister of religion" during the duration of his time in France.

Both before and after Romney's time as a missionary he also received almost three years of deferments for his time as a student. Romney lived in Michigan at the time, which made his 4-D exemption from the draft all but a certainty. Had he lived in Utah, which had a much larger Mormon population, his deferment may have been much more difficult. It was first unearthed by the Massachusetts Democrats in 2006.
