Former Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden slammed NBC News' interview with Edward Snowden during an appearance on NewsMaxTV on Thursday. Hayden criticized NBC anchor Brian Williams for not being "aggressive" enough with the former NSA contractor.

"I was struck by the word you used to describe the show last night: interview," Hayden said. "Boy if it was an interview it surely wasn't a very aggressive one. I had a ton of follow-on questions Brian Williams should have asked. It was more a platform for Snowden to say what he wanted to say about issues he wanted to talk about. He refused to discuss some things that Williams did indeed raise."

Hayden also said they can't reveal how the Snowden leaks damaged American national security because the "specifics" would "increase the amount of harm."

"What does he want us to do? Does he want the Intelligence Agency to go out there and say let me give you a list of the terrorists we're no longer intercepting communications from?"
