Mike Huckabee has quickly occupied the Trump-friendly space left vacant by Ted Cruz, even announcing on Thursday that he will attend Donald Trump's rally in Iowa during the Republican debate.
But on Thursday — the same day — Huckabee also ripped The Donald on his pay-per-view podcast.
"If the Donald sits this one out at least that might remove the temptation to concentrate on personal bickering and give viewers a chance to hear questions on substantive issues," Huckabee said on his Huckabee Exclusive podcast. "But I wouldn't bet against the rest of the media ignoring those issues and devoting most of their coverage to whatever Donald Trump tweets during the debate."
The former Arkansas governor noted he find it "bizarre" so media pundits had already decided the race was coming down a few candidates just based on polls.
The former Arkansas governor and current DVD salesman is currently at 1.8% in Iowa, a state he won in the 2008 presidential primary.
He recently said he would support Trump over a lot of the current field of Republican candidates.
