Senator Barack Obama campaigned loudly to put a stop to no-bid government contracts in 2008 and blasted the Bush Administration for giving "sweetheart deals" to companies like Halliburton. As President, the Obama administration has failed to end such contracts and even awarded a $433-million no bid contract for a smallpox vaccine to a company largely owned by longtime Democratic donor.
