A triple suicide bombing in the eastern Iraqi province of Diyala has killed 58 people and injured at least 107, hospital officials confirmed to the Associated Press.
Members of Kurdish security forces and civilians died in the explosions.
A member of the Qara Tappah municipal council was nearby when the attacks took place; the man, Bashir al-Dalawi, said the bombs went off close to a government building, leading to the high number of causalities.
The terrorist group ISIS took responsibility for the attack, and said it was carried out by three foreign jihadists.
Following its offensive throughout the summer, ISIS has now claimed about a third of Iraq.
Over the weekend, the United States and allied nations Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates conducted nine air strikes on targets in Iraq and Syria, ITV reports.
The US Central Command said that jets hit three ISIS positions in Kobani near the Syrian-Turkish border, and struck a vehicle compound in the northwest city of Ar Raqqah.
