On Tuesday morning, tens of thousands of people gathered in the First National Bank (FNB) Stadium in Soweto, South Africa to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela's life.
Crowds traveled through Johannesburg to make their way to the Memorial Service for former South African President Nelson Mandela at the First National Bank (FNB) Stadium, also known as Soccer City.

Despite the rain, South Africans joined world leaders at Nelson Mandela's memorial service. The crowds went wild as U.S. President Barack Obama honored one of his personal heroes, who he called "the last great liberator of the 20th century."
