A small Piper PA-28 aircraft heading towards LaGuardia Airport in Queens, N.Y., made an emergency landing on the Major Deegan Expressway at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, a spokesman from the New York City Fire Department told BuzzFeed.
"It's upright, it's in one piece. Looks to be a solid landing," one first responder told the New York Daily News.
Three passengers are being treated for injuries at at St. Barnabas hospital. Gothamist is reporting that there were four people on board, including the pilot.
The tail number registry for the plane indicates it is registered to a Michael Schwartz of South Salem, N.Y.
