[According to AP,](https://apnews.com/article/mammoth-meatball-cultivated-meat-agriculture-sustainability-30e0731838f52cc18fb22d1faee1f8ce) the startup Vow "used publicly available genetic information from the mammoth, filled missing parts with genetic data from its closest living relative, the African elephant, and inserted it into a sheep cell." The cells then developed until they were large enough to roll into a meatball.

Prosecutors in Ohio have [successfully reeled in a catch](https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/davidmack/guilty-fishing-competition-cheating-ohio-lead-weights?ref=bfnsplash) — so to speak — after two men decided to plead guilty and admit to [cheating last year in a fishing competition](https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/davidmack/fishing-cheating-ohio-lake-erie-weights-charges) that went viral on social media. They each admitted to one felony count of cheating and a misdemeanor count of unlawful ownership of wild animals.
