A Little Girl Lost Her Out-Of-Production Toy Cat So John Lewis Made Her A New One For Free

A little act of kindness hardly anyone noticed this month. H/T Guardian.

Here's a nice soft toy grey cat, such as the one owned by the daughter of "KD", who wrote to the Guardian earlier this month.

The letter kind of slipped under the radar, but really, this is gold-class customer service.

KD says her young son lost the cat, which was bought for her daughter by her grandad seven years ago. She wrote:

It was obviously out of production but having contacted head office with an old photo from eBay (the listing had ended a year ago) they sourced the design template and had their Indonesian factory create a one-off sample which sent it to their offices in London. John Lewis then despatched it to my office – at no cost to myself. My daughter is ecstatic!

BuzzFeed has contacted the retailer to find out a bit more about the story.

Reminder: John Lewis isn't the only John Lewis providing awesome free service out there.
