This Kentucky Newspaper Tried To Win Back Subscribers With Pleading Love Letter

"I know I'm not the bester listener, but our time together always left us wanting fulfilled."

The Lexington Herald-Leader sent this letter to subscribers that had cancelled within the past 90 days. It was mailed to coincide with Valentine's Day in an attempt to woo back subscribers that had strayed away.

Aaron Kotarek, director of Audience Development at the Herald-Leader, said that responses “have run the gamut of topics,” but he’s “happy with the early returns we're seeing in terms of "re-acquired" subscribers."
