After claiming last week that his finger fell off during a poker tournament, former MLB player Jose Canseco told TMZ that the whole thing was a hoax that he cooked up after seeing a fake finger in a Halloween store.
Jose Canseco claimed he accidentally shot himself in the hand last week while cleaning a firearm at his Las Vegas home. He later underwent surgery and posted this photo:
After the incident, he thanked both the Las Vegas police and his fiancée:

But the story turned awkward Friday when Canseco took to Twitter to tease updates on the accident:
